James is one of those lucky, who succeeded in the NBA. What is the secret of his success?
Lebron James High School Stats: the Birth of the Legend
James LeBron’s ability to score is a divine gift. He was born to become a star, and it was noticeable to anyone, who looked at him at his young age. His physique was one of the brightest LeBron features. Just have a look:
James was very talented, and his gift was complemented by his hard work. In one of his interviews, LeBron recalled the advice of his high school coach Keith Dambrot. Keith said that James could become an NBA star if he worked hard to improve his statistics. Keith was the first to discover LeBron’s talent in basketball.
LeBron Raymone James made his first breath in Akron, Ohio, where he resided with a single mother, Gloria Marie James. His biological father Anthony McClelland has never been present in his life. Gloria took any odd job she could find to provide her only son with everything he needed. They paid $17 per month for their small apartment in Akron. The future billionaire grew up in an unprivileged area, where he heard the gunfire sounds every single day and sometimes saw the dead bodies. “I had to become part of that statistics”, James said in his interview later.
But everything had changed when he met Keith Dambrot. LeBron played for the basketball team at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. After three games on the court, Keith told him, that he would become an NBA player. James didn’t get a college degree. He became a pro basketball player that very year he graduated from school.
As a senior, LeBron has already got lots of public attention. Sports scouts got interested in him, and he even got some solid endorsement proposals. The famous sportswear company “Adidas” dressed LeBron and his teammates for games on the court. He scored 31.6 points per game on average and made 5.7 assists and 8.3 rebounds.
In 2003 James was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Did you know, that an average NBA career lasts for 4.8 months? But LeBron has been an NBA star for 20 years, which is four times more than average! And that was a stellar career, full of high points and records. He took part in many play-in contests and sixteen times he led his teams to play-off game series. Four times he won the NBA champion title with his teams: once with the Cleveland Cavaliers, twice with the Miami Heat, and once with the Lakers.
On average, he took part in 532 playoff games and scored 28 points, 7 assists, and 9 rebounds on average. His record was in 2008 with the Cavaliers, when he scored 35.3 points per game. In the 2017-2018 season, he was close to that record and scored 34 points per game.
No need to say that LeBron’s career points look impressive. But what did LeBron do to dominate the figures?
In his interview with ESPN James said that he had just one fear – to lose. He worked hard to get the victory for his team and himself, and always that was at the center of his attention.
After being drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers he played 7 seasons for that team. LeBron was a great success as a player, but he didn’t lead his team to winning the NBA Championship. He left the team and became a free agent in 2010. Thus, James supposed that he would boost his career and put it to the next level. And he was right – he achieved a lot with his next team, the Miami Heat. With that team, he won the NBA Champion title twice.
After four successful years with the Heat, he returned to the Cavaliers. Being stronger than ever, LeBron wanted to bring his hometown team to the championship – and he did it.
Currently, he performs for the Los Angeles Lakers. With them, he became the NBA’s All-Time leading scorer. His career has been lasting till now. Let’s consider James LeBron’s brightest career highs.
The list of his achievements is even longer than his famous legs, which ran over the court so fast and helped The King score his goals easily. Here are just the highest achievements in LeBron’s career:
He became the youngest MVP player in the NBA history
Four times he was chosen as NBA Most Valuable Player.
Eleven years in a row he won the NBA All-Star title.
In 2008 and 2012 he played for the basketball team at Olympic Games and won the gold medal.
He was named the NBA Finals MVP
If you think, that LeBron’s career had only ups, you are wrong. Like any other athlete he had downs, too. Have a look at three biggest LeBron’s failures!
In his interview James told that his failures made him more mature. Now he plays not for statistics, but for pleasure. Thus, he dominated the figures!
